Have you ever had to adjust or modify your behavior to prevent embarrassing yourself? Back when I was in high school the cool thing to do was to smoke cigarettes and chew tobacco. Every time I tried smoking or chewing tobacco they would always make me very sick to my stomach. After that I started to lie to my friends about my smoking and chewing habits that I really never had. To prevent embarrassing myself in front of my friends I would have to lie to them and would have to spend money on things I would never use.
The first reason to prevent embarrassing myself for my friends is, I had to lie to them. The first example of the lying to my friends is they would always ask me if I inhaled cigarettes. I would always have to tell them yes because of I didn't do not be a part of the cool group.

After hours asked that question I would be forced to say yes, but when in fact it was just gum. The third example of me lying to my friends is they would ask me if I wanted to go outside have a cigarette. I would always tell them that I just had one the few minutes ago, but I never did. These are three main reasons why I had to lie to my friends in order to be in the cool group.
The second reason to prevent embarrassing myself in the friends is I have to spend money on things I didn't need or used. The first example of me spending money on things I would never use is buying cigarettes. When my friends and I went downtown and they bought cigarettes I would have to buy them as well. If I didn't buy the cigarettes they would no I did not smoke in that I would no longer be in the cool group. The second example of me spending money on things I would never you use is buying chewing tobacco. If my friends were in the store and they were buying chewing tobacco I would be forced to buy as well. If I didn't buy they would no that I don't chew in then I would be embarrassed in front of my friends.
