Handling data is one of the core factors that define success of an organization. Companies depend on Information Technology for data handling. Implementing an ERP system is good way to do that. ERP which stands for Enterprise Resource Planning can be defined as a platform or business management software that allows an organization or management to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business. It is well structured and is well known for its success and advantages that comes with the implementation. Many organizations found competitive advantage over their rivals by implementing ERP systems which pushed other organizations to change and implement ERP systems. This led everyone having same technology trying to achieve competitive advantage.
This assignment is a small attempt to find out how organizations gain advantage with implementing ERP systems when their rivals are having same or similar systems implemented.
