Techno is a form of electronic music that emerged during the mid 1980s and primarily refers to a particular style founded in America with influences from Germany and developed in and around Detroit and subsequently adopted by European producers. This type of music is usually fast with lyrics that you wont really understand. The mood of most techno music is the same feeling you get when you're at a party or dance. Techno usually uses computerized sound effects instead of people actually purchasing and playing a musical instrument such as the Guitar. The term "techno" is often used in North America and Europe to describe all forms of electronic dance music.

Techno music reinforces the message of the songs analyzed by creating a fast and intense electronic beat that influences you to get on the dance floor. The message of this type of music is to party and have a great time.

Some significant hit songs include Popcorn, Axel F, Magic Melody, and Pump Up The Jam. These 4 songs are all by Crazy Frog.

Former high school friends and mixtape traders named Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson found inspiration in Midnight Funk Association. This was an electric, 5-hour, late-night radio show hosted on various Detroit radio stations including WCHB, WGPR, and WJLB-FM from 1977 through the mid-1980s by DJ Charles Johnson also known as "The Electrifying Mojo". Mojo's show featured heavy doses of electronic sounds from the likes of George Clinton, Kraftwerk, and Tangerine Dream, among others. If it weren't for this radio show, techno music probally wouldn't be as big as it is today.
