Introduction:
Many know the Ku Klux Klan (also known as the "KKK") as crazy white men dressed in bed sheets. When really they are a lot more than that and during this report I will be going into detail on the KKK where it started, what it's aims are, and many more topics. The KKK is now labelled as a terrorist organisation and its running is illegal.
The Ku Klux Klan is a terrorist organisation in the United States, and is broken up in two separate time periods one. The first time period immediately after the civil war which lasted until the 1870's whilst the other began in 1915 and continues until present time. The very first Klan was originally made and organised as a social club for Confederate veterans in Pulaski, Tennessee during 1866. The name comes from the Greek work kyklos meaning circle then they added Klan for the sake of alliteration and then Ku Klux Klan formed.

The Klan existed during two periods. It subsisted during Reconstruction, before, during and after World War I, and in the 1800's during the civil war." The organisation quickly became a group for southern white underground resistance to Radical Reconstruction. The members of the Klan wanted to make clear that white people were supreme through intimidation and violence. This violence and intimidation was aimed at newly liberated black slaves.
