After Jamaica got independence in1962, the lack of political improvement and black power movement in the U.S led to a big Rasta resurgence. Rasta form the base of reggae music, artists like Bob Marley used it to spread Rasta thought all over the world. Reggae music had developed in the Caribbean island such Jamaica, Trinidad, and Puerto Rico. Bob Marley is a legend to reggae music in Jamaica. He had emerged from the slums of Kingston to achieve a worldwide fame. His music spread to Africa and all over the world. He has inspired many artists like Lauryn Hill and Busta Rhymes. Bob career stretched back forty years. He has made many music for people to enjoy. Bob's tragic death in 1981 left the world in mourning. When Bob was alive, there were many stories of his love affairs with scores of women, Bob secretly carried guns or knives and threatened to kill those who crossed him and how is wife Rita was able to sign Bob's signature on checks for huge sums of money.

Everyone knows Bob as a great singer, but people do not know is personal life.

Bob's mother Cedella was born July 23, 1926 at Nine Miles. She is sixth of nine children. Cedella father Omeriah was a farmer. The people often called him custos in his neighborhood. He was a man of property and some authority in the district at that time. She grew up poor. Her mother Alberta was a quite woman that sang well. Cedells's uncle was a musician who played the violin. Cedella spent much of the time barefoot with a basket on her head. She joined the church choir and began to develop a fine voice. Cedella is a young woman that wanted more in life.
