Expertise Paper To become an expert at something, anything, takes a lot of hard work. For example, I am an expert at putting things off until the very last minute, simply because I don't feel like doing them. In other words, I am an expert procrastinator. This is a skill that I have practiced from a very early age, actually for as long as I can remember. For me to develop my expertise in procrastination was very easy. For the most part, it was a natural occurrence. From a young age and with little prompting, I quickly realized that if I don't do it, somebody else will. Mostly my rationale came from personal experience.

To start with, I began to daydream the other day and before I knew it I was swept away to a time long ago (17 years to be exact). I was nine years old, sitting in my bedroom, looking at the perfectly fine mess that I had just created.

I hear my mother coming up the stairs. She quickly walks by paying absolutely no attention to me. If I disappear for a couple of hours before my mother notices that my room is a mess I know that she will clean my room for me. I head to the stairs with silent determination. I am quick. I have been practicing for some time now, and I make it to the bottom of the staircase without a sound. Out the kitchen door I go at a quick jog, heading down the street to the park. Before I know it a couple of hours have passed and it's getting close to suppertime. I head home at a slow walk, trying to waste a little more time. Back through the kitchen door, up the stairs, and down the hall...
