Abstract

This research paper evaluates the connection between the movie, The Tuskegee Airmen and its relative portrayal of acceptable and factual events that occurred during the time period of the real Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee Airmen were African Americans who completed Air Corps training and were made into as pilots and officers during World War II. An analysis of this paper yields the many obstacles and issues that a group of young pilots endured leading into WWII such as racism and segregation. To clarify my research I deliberately depicted a movie multiple times, and reviewed information from primary sources.

This paper agrees with the stated question, the movie accurately portrayed real events of the Tuskegee Airmen. It concurs with concrete evidence from multiple sources on the events that took place during this era.

The film, the Tuskegee Airmen, was very factual and quite literal in its portrayal of the real heroes who flew the many escort missions during World War II. The historical value of this film is very accurate and the men who were portrayed in it were in fact heroes and excellent combat fighters. The fact that these men were not recognized for any of their battle achievements is indeed true.
