"Factors affecting the health of Adults and Aged Athletes"

Adults and aged athletes can suffer from osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and health conditions. To reduce the risk of developing these diseases and too help with the symptoms athletes must partake in regular exercise, and lead a generally healthy lifestyle. The best form of regular exercise for adults and aged athletes suffering from these types of conditions should participate in non contact, low impact sports.

Heart disease is a condition that affects how the heart operates. There are many types of heart disease and they can arise from a series of causes which include congenital defects, infection, narrowing of the coronary arteries and high blood pressure. The most common types of heart disease are coronary, congenital, angina, myocarditis and arrhythmia.

Decrease

The heart is a pump that functions by pushing the blood through its four chambers. The blood is "pushed" through in a controlled sequence of muscular contractions. The sequence is controlled by bundles of cells which control the electrical activity of the heart. When the sequence is disturbed, heart arrhythmias occur.

Arrhythmias can be described as being irregular rhythms of the heart. This particular type of heart condition causes the heart to pump blood less effectively around the body. Most commonly, individuals with this heart condition suffer from benign and temporary arrhythmia's which occur when your heart skips a beat or has an extra one. This is caused by changes which can be brought on by strong emotions or exercise. Arrhythmia's may be life threatening and require treatment.

Angina, or Angina Pectoris, is another common form of heart condition. Angina Pectoris is...
