It has been a long battle with doctors and nurses educating pregnant women to refrain from consuming alcohol. The reason is due to several researches which have indicated that alcohol is the main cause for this condition. According the American Academic of Nurse Fractioned, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome means a person who abuse alcohol during her pregnancy resulting in a child with mental , physical, social, psychological problems. The term Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) refers to a constellation of physical, behavioral, and cognitive abnormalities. In addition to the classic dimorphic facial features, prenatal/ postnatal growth of abnormality and mental retardation that define the condition; children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome have very small head sizes (American Academy of Pediatrics). Alcohol also causes growth deficiencies, skeletal deformities, speech and language deficits, motor dysfunction, learning and behavioral problems, sleeping and eating irregularities in the children who are affected (Murphy Brennan &Oei 1999).

As a result, children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome suffer all kinds of issues and in worst cases, the alcohol may even kill the baby.

Although physicians and other health care professionals are trying very hard to get people to stop drinking before considering to get pregnant, some people are still drinking during their pregnancy. "The key to prevention of FAS is the identification and education of women who consume alcohol before they become pregnant or as early in their pregnancy as possible" (Journal of American Academy).

The pregnant women who are drinking know everything about alcohol during pregnancy from head to toe, they can also recite the consequences. Nevertheless people are drinking alcohol while pregnant. They don't care about what will happen to their babies, while they watch television they see the consequences. They see babies suffer just from alcohol. As a child they did not choose for their mother to use...
