Terror, destruction, sadness, and thousands of lives taken on a cruel act of terrorism on September 11, 2001. It shocked this nation and the world to think that there are such people out there who kill others just for the sheer pleasure of knowing that someone will be afraid of them. That is their goal. But, this would make someone wonder why, if God wants us to be happy, would he allow such acts to occur. According to Genesis Chapter 3, there is evil in the world because of free will.

There are several groups of people or things for causing free will. Adam and Eve are one group in which can be truly the blame for free will. Eve was one of the contributors because she gave into the temptation from the serpent and was the first person to eat the fruit. She then offered it to Adam. He contributed to there being free will because he accepted the fruit from Eve and he ate it.

Now with them both eating the fruit they had no choice but to accept the consequences God gave them, which was death. They disobeyed God and knew they disobeyed in choosing to eat the fruit when they weren't supposed to. Thus they chose their free will to do so.

Another factor into Adam and Eve's choice was the serpent. The serpent was the most cunning of all the animals that the Lord God had made. With its cunnings, it first tricked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit from the forbidden tree, and then had her offer the fruit to Adam. The serpent also lied in saying that God was lying.
