Abstract

Management can be a very big responsibility. Managing people requires a lot of training. Being a manager is not always going to be an easy task. Adjust is going to have to happen because the people that one maybe managing can range in age from someone older to someone younger than their manager. Age in itself is going to be a definite adjustment. Not only does the manager have to consider the age difference, there are going to cultural differences as well as personality differences to be considered. The task of managing definitely requires some type of training because in every form of business there are going to be managers and supervisors that have employees who report to them.

The Functions of Management

In today's business world, one will always encounter a manager or supervisor of some sort. In every aspect of every business, there is going to be someone who the employees report to and some who delegates tasks and jobs to be completed.

In being the manager or supervisor, there are going to be required tasks and job that need to be completed in a timely manner. In order for this to happen, there has to be some planning, some form of organization, a definite leader and control implemented if the job is to be completed properly and on time. In my present job, it is apparent that those four management functions have to be present. Those functions are being utilized within the organization that I work, by my present manager as well as her manager, and within my position as a refund analyst.

Within Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, the organization that I work for, those functions of management are implemented on all levels. There has to be planning in order for Kelsey-Seybold to meet their monthly goals...
