Case study of Turkey.
Based on this case study, they show about the evolution of cooperative global trade agreement in Turkey which is we have learned it in the subject Global Marketing (chapter 2). They started in 1980 Economic Reform Program which is parallel to the global trend, Turkish economy witnessed a significant transformation, and experienced important steps on the way of liberalizing it economic and trade policies in 1980s, by replacing import-substitution development strategy with export-led growth model, and converting itself from state directed system to market-oriented free enterprise system.
This liberalization process began with a government program known as "24 January 1980 reform package" which is have four major policy objectives in economy which is elimination of price controls, liberalization of trade and FDI policies, privatization of the state economic enterprise and exchange rate regime reforms.
In the year 1951 Turkey entered to the GATT under the Torquay Protocol, participated in all subsequent rounds of multilateral trade negotiations and became original member of the WTO on 26 March 1995. Result on Uruguay Round shows 46.3% of Turkey's tariff lines were bound all tariff lines for agricultural products, and about 36% of the lines for non-agricultural products. The 1980s' export incentive programs were reviewed, and the ones, which were not in compliance with the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, were eliminated in a great extent.
