Global warming is a hot environmental topic. Team B's interest in global warming is more from curiosity than concern. We are intrigued with a phenomenon that can melt ice sheet like ice cubes and we cannot help but wonder about its possible consequences.
" Global warming is the process in which heat from the sun is trapped in the earth's atmosphere as a result of pollution. Since the Industrial Revolution, scientists think that the Earth's surface temperature has risen 1 degree Fahrenheit over the last 100 years. Most of the global warming that has occurred over the past several decades is a direct product of human activities: carbon dioxide pollution discharging from our cars and power plants is building up in the atmosphere and causing global warming. The emissions from cars and power plants create what are known as "greenhouse gases," mainly carbon dioxide. Global warming can be devastating to our planet."
(Beecham, pg 1)
The topic of global warming is not only important but it is also extremely complex. For example, there is the ongoing debate about how much of it is due to natural cycle and to what degree humans influences it. Team B found the topic of global warming very interesting and disturbing and wanted to learn more. Since global warming is a broad topic, the team narrows it down by focusing on global warming and its' effects on the ocean. Our objective for this research paper includes:
* Clarifying the process of global warming.
* The cause of global warming
* Consequences to the Ocean
* Conclude our research on our finding of global warming.
While analyzing the causes is a frightening task, charting its future course is even more challenging. Therefore, the most appropriate response to global warming research is that it needs to...
