Globalization and how it impacts the four functions of management at Netflix.
Globalization from a business stand point means to strive toward a worldwide investment environment, and the integration of national capital markets (Campbell). With the success that NetFlix has as a national leader in online video renting, globalizing there market strategy might be a good idea.
Planning towards globalization includes analyzing our current situation, anticipating the future, determining our resources etc. How will this impact us? As far as our current situation, it may not be necessary to go global with NetFlix. The success that the business already has s more than sufficient but, it may be a good idea in the future in case competition arises. For example, if block buster decides to rent CD's through the web as we do, we may want to consider getting more customers globally but for now because of complex international legislations, unknown business practices, etc.

Organizing for Globalization will be one of the main factors in being successful if a company such as NetFlix decides to go global. Assembling and coordinating the human, financial, physical, informational, etc. aspect of the global market will be very difficult. First off we don't know how dependable the delivery system is in other countries, we will have to find out how to get our movies in other languages, what types of movies we should hold in inventory (foreign or American), etc. The delivery in America is part of the reason NetFlix is so successful. In most cases they will provide 1 day delivery on any movie. To help understand and organize the business easier we may want to find a partner that specific company.
