The Gifts of God to Men
Jesus came to earth to reconcile us to God, to break the curse of sin and death in our lives through His authority over Satan, death, and hell. When we accept God's gift to become united with Him through Jesus Christ, we also are given the authority of Jesus, and the right to use His name. (Romans 6:23 NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ephesians 4:7-8 NKJV) But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. {8} Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."
The gifts Jesus gives to men are salvation, strength, and citizenship in heaven. (Revelation 12:10-11 NKJV) Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. {11} "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Notice that the gifts to men are the very things that we need to be over comers. Salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God. The word of our testimony, Jesus Christ and Him crucified; is power, and all strength to defeat the works of darkness.
