The constitution of the United States is more than two hundred years old; In contrast, the constitution of my country, Colombia, is only 10 years old. This is, the United States is a country that has always thought in the future. In contrast, Colombia is a country that lives day by day. We have never thought in the future.

During the history of America, its governors have thought in what is going to happen next. For example, the infrastructure projects were designed to last more than twenty years, that's why you could see gigantic highways or dams when the traffic or energy consumption was very low.

Another consequence of this is that the U.S. has had and will have the original constitution throughout all its history. Americans love their constitution and won't let anyone change it. In contrast, Colombian governors have a reduce view of the future. They have never think in more than four years. This is the period that they can stay in the power.
