Trust, a simple five letter word, but what does it mean? The dictionary defines it as firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing. In 2000 George W. Bush was elected to office, and as the nation we were expected to give him our trust. Four years have past, and he is still asking for the nation's trust, but can the United States give it to him? President Bush has mislead and lied to the Congress, the country, and the rest of the world about important issues, and is not deserving of the nation's confidence. First and foremost, when discussing Bush's betrayal of the nation one must bring up the war in Iraq. Many people may ignore the lies, most likely these people are the right wingers who like to call themselves "patriotic", but there is nothing patriotic about lying to your country. From the war with Iraq, to funding for organizations that will better America, to John Kerry, Bush.

President Bush is the biggest liar that has ever had the opportunity to disgrace the American Presidency. President Bush and his cabinet have told the American people, as well as the whole world, that Iraq was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction. "We know where [Iraq's WMD] are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south, and north somewhat." (Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, March 30, 2003, in statements to the press). Now, despite these outrages claims, President Bush along with his band of "yes sirs" have not been able to obtain one stitch of solid evidence that there ever were any weapons of mass destruction, that the President and his cabinet said that they knew were there.
