People say that the three most important things we humans need in order to survive are food, clothing, and shelter. I think out of those three things most people would say that food is the most important thing because that is what keeps us alive. Sure clothing and shelter will keeps us nice and warm, but we don't really need it to survive. Before humans started to settle down and build shelter in order to live in one place, they used to be nomads. Nomads would wander on the Earth with no real shelter except for what Mother Nature gave them. In order to survive, these nomads would have to hunt and gather their own food. If they could not get enough food or water to make it through the day they would most likely get very weak, then get sick, and eventually die. Humans are like cars, they both need energy to be put into them to be able to work.

The energy needed for a car to work would be the gas that is put into it, and the energy for humans would be food and water that is consumed. Having food and water everyday is very important in order to live. Having the right amount of nutrients, water, and exercising everyday increases your chances of living a long and healthy life. In Holes, a children's novel by Louis Sachar, Zero travels several days in the desert without any water and barely survives. Zero looses consciousness several times and if it was not for Stanley's heroic actions Zero would have died from dehydration. In order to have a healthy life you need to drink plenty of water, eat all essential nutrients, and exercise.
