What would life be like if we could not turn on the television to a channel that keeps us updated on what is going on in the world live. Twenty four hour news broadcasting changed the face of the world. It made an impact on what people believed and saw. Founded by Ted Tuner CNN, which is an abbreviation for Cable News Network, was the first major cable news network to hit television back in 1980. If it was not for twenty four hour news broadcasting networks, we would never get the live in your face action that we get when something in happening at the moment.

CNN has several slogans such as "The Most Trust Name in News" and another one of their slogans is "The Best Political Team in Television". When Ted Turner launched CNN, he originally launched it for people like him who came home too late from work to catch the 6:30 PM news.

Ted Turner had a vision for CNN to be the first news source to fill in the holes that other new sources did not. He wanted to do what the New York Times did for the newspapers, but on the air. Before Ted Turner launched CNN he promised that CNN will not go off the air until the world would come to an end.

"We won't be signing off until the world ends. We'll be on, and we will cover the end of the world, live, and that will be our last event. . . . And when the end of the world comes, we'll play 'Nearer My God to Thee' before we sign off" (Wikipedia, CNN).

The New York Times has been around for over hundred years and is the most respected newspaper company in the United States. It is...
