Honesty. A simple word with an even more simple meaning. People expect honesty from others and yet they don't want to reciprocate. Secrets, lies, exposure, and even self-esteem are the many reasons to why people are not more honest and open with one another. I won't say that I'm an open book, but I try to be as fair as possible. I know that even though I'm honest with my family, my friends, and even strangers, I don't receive the same courtesy most of the time. This experiment gave me the opportunity of differentiating the people that were honest with me to those that weren't. My expectations weren't high. To protect an image or to not be embarrassed I knew that I wasn't going to get a genuine feedback.

I tried to be subtle with this experiment. Interpersonal communication would be the best approach for me.

But if I went up to one of my friends and asked them a question right off the bat, I knew that I might make them feel uncomfortable or worse they might become angry towards me for prying. The possibility of them also lying about it is extremely high. Dale and I have known each other for 6 years. 3 years ago that there was a change in Dale's character. I was oblivious to the reason why Dale was callus towards me on occasion. He moved 2 years ago to Orlando and I wasn't going to ask him over the phone. When I heard he had moved back to Miami I knew it was my chance to find out why he was angry at me that time. I wanted to have a face-to-face conversation with him.
