Our hair is very important to us. We spend hours caring for it styling it and thinking about it. The state of your hair can greatly affect your life as we've all heard lousy days referred to as "bad hair days." Becuase hair is so very important to us, losing your hair can be very traumatic. For years, people have watched as their hair thined and felt helpless. In today's world, we don't have to sit back and watch as hair loss occurs. We can do something about it.

Hair growth research has greatly advanced in the past few years. The importance of vitamins to our hair is becoming a prevalent message. Giving your hair proper nourishment can keep it healthy, extend its life, and delay hair loss.

Your hair is part of you so you need to take care of it as you would your body, with proper nourishment.

You can do this by giving your hair proper vitamins via shampoos, conditioners, and treatments. Certain vitamins are specific to hair growth and therefore essential as you fight hair loss and encourage hair growth. Normal hair growth occurs at a pretty consistent rate of about half a millimeter or so per day. This rate is about half an inch every month. It may grow faster or slower depending on your age, genetics, and hormonal state.

Anagen (Growth) Stage

Hair grows in 3 stages beginning with the Anagen or Growth Stage. In this stage, the new hair grows from the base of the follicle. As this phase usually last for several years, the result of the Anagen Stage is a full-grown hair.
