Abstract

Many scientists have been warning people that we cannot continue to use fossil fuels at the current rate. Besides the possibility of running out of these fuels, there is also the negative impact that the use of these fossil fuels has on the Earth's ecosystems, such as global warming. Currently, the major sources of fuel in the world are oil and coal. These are limited resources, which mean that they will not last forever. They are also expensive, because there is no commonly available alternative at this time. In addition to this, they are also polluting the environment and are the major cause of global warming.

To eliminate our dependence on fossils fuels, scientists have been looking at various alternatives, such as hydrogen as a source of energy. Hydrogen would be a good alternative for many reasons. First of all, it's the most abundant element in the universe. Most importantly, it produces no pollutants when it is burned, only water.

Once the world starts switching over to the use of alternative fuels, such as hydrogen energy, there will be many benefits. The United States will be less dependent on the Middle East because it will not need as much oil. Also, as hydrogen begins to replace the burning of coal and oil, there will be less pollution and a less likely chance of global warming occurring.

The Earth's inhabitants cannot continue using fossil fuels at the current rate without doing major damage to the Earth's ecosystems. Currently, the major sources of fuel used are oil and coal. Besides the fact that these resources are limited and expensive, they are also polluting the environment and are the major cause of global warming. The burning of these fuels produces carbon dioxide, which is the gas most responsible for the greenhouse...
