Inferences Between Men and Women

Although most people are aware that women are just as capable of doing anything a man can do, there are still many people that infer otherwise. Some people still have the mind set that women are meant to stay home and cook, clean, raise the kids, and run the errands. That may have been the way things went in the late 40's and early 50's, but times have dramatically changed in the last half-century. In most households now-a-days women are the ones who bring home the money, and it isn't unheard of for a man to be an at-home dad, which is almost a complete role reversal. Some men are even aghast at the very idea of a man not being the primary bread winner, some do not even want their wives to work at all.

Besides household related inferences, there are many more assumptions about women not being able to be as capable as a man.

Sports, is another area where men feel that they dominate. Although there are such things as the Women's National Basketball League (WNBA) and the Women's Professional Golf Association (WPGA), we still have yet to establish a women's professional football league, is it because some may think that women cannot play football? Despite feminism there are still quite a few stereotypes and inferences about women that may never be shaken. Most women are not recognized by men as being great athletes. In time this attitude may change, however men and women should start acknowledging each other as equals in the athletic department. America may never have a women's professional football league but that does not mean that woman could not compete just a strongly as the male athletes in the sport.
