Profile: Isa ibn Maryam, commonly known as Jesus, was the son of Maryam ibn Imran. He was born in Jerusalem. Maryam came from a very loyal and religious family. Her father was Imran and her mother was Hannah. He was sent to the people of Bani Israel, the Children of Israel. He was sent down a book called the Injeel, also known as the Bible. Prophet Isa is mentioned in the Quran 93 times. Isa was born miraculously. His mother, Mary, was a single woman. She was a virgin her entire life. Allah blessed her with a child in her womb. She was told that when the baby is born she must not speak with any of the towns people for three days and three nights.

All she had to do was point at the baby. After Isa was born, Maryam brought him into town. Maryam was questioned by everyone. She kept silent the entire time. When the town gathered around her she pointed to Isa (Jesus) and then he performed a miracle. Isa spoke! He spoke as a baby in the cradle. He said

"I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; and He hath made me blessed wheresoever I am, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live; (He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable; So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to...
