Job Analysis Table: Kudler Fine Foods

Kudler Fine Foods (KFF), a privately operated company has come a long way in an extremely short period of time. As a local upscale specialty food store KFF has been able to serve its customers with the finest international and domestic products for over a decade now. KFF managed to expand and open two more specialty food stores in the San Diego area and has been successful ever since. Because of the tremendous success, KFF has restructured its organizational strategy and developed a new plan to make all employees who work in the grocery store become front line customer service agents (University of Phoenix, 2012).

This new plan and strategy involves hiring for six new positions which all differ in job responsibility, qualification and compensation. The six positions are Store Manager, Cashier, Bagger, Specialty Department Worker, Department Manager and Stock Person.

The approach used to analyze all six positions will be trough a detailed job analysis.

According to "Hr-Guide.com" (2001), "A job analysis identifies and determines in detail the particular job duties and requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given job. It is a process where judgments are made about data collected on a job and not a person. The data is collected through interviews or questionnaires resulting in the description of the job. The purpose of a job analysis is to be prepared in all aspects including training, selection, performance appraisal and compensation. A job analysis will help compensation specialists identify and determine skill levels, compensable job factors, work environment, responsibilities and the required level of education" (Job Analysis Overview).
