In the fast paced global marketplace organizations face considerable challenges in recruiting and retaining an exceptionally qualified and prolific labor force. Organizations are persistently seeking innovative methods to enhance employee satisfaction and improve productivity, while establishing extrinsic motivators to encourage intrinsic motivation in order to enhance employee commitment and loyalty.

The purpose of this paper is to assess the position of the Assistant Director of the Children's Home. in regard to the system of goal-setting, performance evaluation, and workplace rewards which impact productivity both positively and negatively as well as job satisfaction; identify the current major components, tasks, or responsibilities of the selected position; assessing self-management or sense of choice, evaluate the sense of intrinsic motivation; discuss company-wide rewards and one-to-one rewards. Examine and evaluate if these rewards are effective (or are not effective) in motivating behavior for this position. Identify how goals are used at the Children's Home with regard to the Assistant Director.

Responsibilities of the Assistant DirectorThe Assistant Director is appointed by the Executive Director and is responsible to the Executive Director for the daily supervision and care of the child care and social service program of the Children's Home. The Assistant Director must possess exceptional Christian standards and maintain high moral values; have an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and possess education, training, and experience for the assigned tasks. As a member of the admissions committee, the Assistant Director considers applications for residential care.

In addition, the Assistant Director assists in the screening process for selection of child care providers, relief child care providers and is responsible for supervision and training of child care providers and relief.
