John Adams, I believe, was the most Independent of them all. Adams once said "I must be independent as a man" and that he was. Adams' Independence, I believe, was too much that it got him in trouble. He would fight before he would give in. People would call him "the atlas of independence". He didn't want to write the constitution because he said he didn't have enough time. When Adams was elected president of the United States he seemed to take advantage of the power. He kept Georges Washington's original cabinet but ignored them. Adams didn't want to pick sides with France or England which led to no support from either of them. Adams lost bid for re-election and he left town so he wouldn't have to be a part of the next inauguration. He didn't have many friends after that.

Zachary Taylor also known as "ol' rough and ready" was worried about bringing too much independence in to the house.

He was a decisive and fearless soldier in the war of 1812. He wanted to end the Mexican war fast and nothing would stop him form fighting despite his low numbers. Taylor won the war and was then nominated to be president. The people had no clue what political party he was. They believed was Whig but not a true Whig. He was elected as the 12th president of the United States and used the constitution as a guide through the presidency. Taylor, like Adams, ignored his cabinet members. Taylor represented pro slavery because he too own slaves. He wanted new states, even if they had slavery.
