Boyz N' Tha Hood & Menace II Society In this essay I will analyze two movies "Boyz N' Tha Hood", starring Ice Cube, Cuba Gooding Junior, and Laurence Fishburne, and "Menace II Society", starring Tyrin Turner, Larenz Tate, and MC Eiht. Both of these movies have Black actors and actresses. They both take place in the "hood", an urban place in a city with low income, and they both show the struggle of young black men in America.

"Boyz N' Tha Hood", directed by John Singleton, is about a young black man named Tre', played by Cuba Gooding Junior, who gets into trouble with his mother and is shipped off to be raised by his father, played by Laurence Fishburne. Tre' reunites with his old buddies named Doughboy, played by Ice Cube, and Ricky, played by Morris Chestnut, and he grows up being the smart one out of the bunch.

Singleton's characters have every aspect of Black life in the movie. Ice Cube character is an ex-con who gets out of jail and knows of nothing else but to go down the wrong path. Morris Chestnut's character is a high school football star, who is not that good in the classroom. Then Cuba Gooding Junior's character is a smart, prestigious, and just a great young man.

"Meance II Society", directed by the Hughes Brothers, is about a young black man named Cain, played by Tyrin Turner, who got his named because his father sold cocaine and his mother used it, who encounters life and death situations every day of his life. In the story, Cain has a friend named O-Dog, played by Larenz Tate, who is America's nightmare, a young black man who does not care who, what, when, or how he hurt someone or...
