Journeys

"Life, as the most ancient of all metaphors insists, is a journey; and the travel book, in its deceptive simulations of the journey's fits and starts, rehearses life's own fragmentation." This is a famous quote from Jonathan Raban. Life is a journey and we are travelling in every moment.

Journey is an exploration of who you are; is a travel to a destination. And the treasure is all the experiences which we'll learn from.

The novel "looking for Alibrandi" by Melina Marchetta is written about a girl in her last year in high school, and everything in the book is like a journey, an inner journey throughout the book, the protagonist Josephine changed her opinion about the world, about things around her. This book is also written in first person, from Josephine's point of view. When you read this story, it is like you are taking the journey, which helps us understand about perspectives of Josephine.

Journeys can change people. In the novel Josephine didn't know who her father is, because he went to another city when Josephine hasn't born. She thought his father is tall, good looking, and when her mother spoke about her father Michael will comes back, Jozzie thought it will be angry and full of emotions, but when they first met , it's quick and silence, it is like in a rush. The second encounter with Josephine's father is unhappy. She said to her father "firstly, my name is Josephine. Only people close to me call me Josie, and secondly, I've known about you for a lifetime, so I have had plenty of time to think about this." This shows they both unpleasant about this encounter, but she changes when she got in treble in school and her father Michel came...
