To Kill A Mockingbird
The story To Kill a Mockingbird took place in the era when racial prejudice is ever present in the small town in Alabama called Maycomb. The novel evolves in the life of a little girl named Scout, together with her older brother Jem, their friend Dill, and their lawyer father Atticus Finch. The whole story started in the summer when the siblings met Dill, due to their curiosity to their mysterious neighbor Boo Radley, that is said to be crazy and demented, they started to think on how to know more about their elusive neighbor that never goes out. They started acting out parts of his said life, they tried to leave notes, and they even tried to sneak into the house but nothing really worked to make them meet and see Boo. On the other hand, strange things started happening to the children, a tree near the Radley house started having gifts inside, so the kids tried to leave a note inside but the next day Boo's brother covered up a hole with cement.
Also, their neighbor's house burned and as Scout shivered and watched the blaze, someone covered a blanket on her, then she thought that person might have been Boo.
While the kids are so engrossed of knowing Boo, Atticus at the same time took the job of defending a black man named Tom Robinson who was accused of raping Mayella Ewell, a poor white girl. Atticus was criticized for taking up the job, but he did not care for he believes that everyone is equal and no one should be treated unfairly due to his race or color.
