My pharaoh that I chose was Tutankhamun also known as King Tut and probably one of the best known pharaohs of ancient Egypt. He was the eleventh pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty. He inherited the throne at the age of eight or nine. The discovery of his mummy revealed that he was about seventeen when he died. His father, Akhenaten, was pharaoh of Egypt and had forbidden the worship of many gods in favor of worshiping one, Aten, the sun god. Genetic testing has also verified that king tut was the grandson of the great pharaoh Amenhotep the second. He was tall but physically frail, with a crippling bone disease in his clubbed left foot. He is the only pharaoh know to have depicted seated while in physical activities like archery. King tut's main accomplishments was saving Egypt from the chaos his father created, his father tried to change the religion in Egypt from Amun to Aten.

When king tut took over he changed the religion back to Amun. Tutankhamen was born in circa 1341 B.C.E. and given the name Tutankhaten meaning "the living image of Aten". Tutankhaten, took over around 1332 B.C.E. In that same year he took power he married Ankhesenamun, his half-sister and daughter of Ikhnaton and Nefertiti. Due to his age when he took power the first years of his reign were probably controlled by an elder known as Ay, who bore the title of Vizier. He ruled for ten years and until his death at the age of nineteen, around 1324 B.C. King tut's pyramid was discovered in the Egypt's Valley of the Kings in 1922. His burial was virtually unknown until the 1920s, even the location was lost as its entrance had been covered...
