Goal:

The students will get a new knowledge and understanding about a hangover.

Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to know causes and effects from a hangover, and why it is important to know it.

Competence:

Students will be able to respond orally and or in writing to questions in about causes and effects from a hangover.

Gain attention:

The teacher shows an interesting video from a person with a hangover to the students, and finally poses a question: what do you think a hangover is?

Expected answers:

Some student may respond that it is the consequence from drinking alcohol, other students may say that it is a consequence after a party, some other students will say that is just a sick because they did not experimented it, and some others will not know what to respond. The teacher will let everybody to participate with their experiences and will not tell them who is correct or wrong.

A hangover is the experience of various unpleasant physiological and psychological effects following consumption of alcoholic beverages and is generally characterized by a feeling of severe discomfort that may last more than 24 hours. Typical symptoms of a hangover may include headache, drowsiness, concentration problems, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, gastrointestinal complaints, sweating, nausea, hyper-excitability and anxiety.
