This experience is like when, Balthazar Romeo’s servant tells him that Juliet is dead but she really is not. He makes a mistake, and gives Romeo invalid information.

It was about one year ago, during summer break; my friend (Jake) and l had gone on a trip to British Columbia, with his family; to stay at a beautiful ocean resort for one week. Anyways, on the first day, Jake and I rented out some surf boards for the day since it was too hot to not go in the water; this is where my mistake begins, because l didn’t even know how to surf.

In the mid afternoon we were out in the salty water and I noticed there was no one around us, Jake thought that maybe we should swim in...But I said no, lets swim out farther, (being ignorant) so we kept on going...

Not to much longer, we heard a life guard whistle blowing and Jake asked if I thought is was at us, and again I said no we're fine; although l though sensed that we were being pulled in the direction that we were swimming, by the ocean currents, but l though it was nothing because it was same in the ocean in Israel.

About ten seconds later we look up and there are about five life guards swimming towards us! We had no idea what was going on.

When they caught up with us they told us that we were caught in a rip tide and were being pulled out farther and farther into the ocean. But I told them that that wasn't true that we were just swimming but they, insisted on dragging us back to shore anyways.

I told my lifeguard that I was ok and I would swim back but poor Jake got picked up and swam into shore! I was laughing my head off as l swam back.

When we were almost back on shore we looked up to see the beach filled with people standing up watching in suspense as if we were in danger. When we got to shore they all started clapping because we were "rescued"!!! The life guards did there check up procedure, and they gave us a twenty minute lecture on rip tides and how we made a mistake going out farther into the ocean, instead of swimming in after we saw that there was nobody around.

To make it worse, while it was all happening Jake’s mom was on the beach. And a life guard asked to her to hold his sunglasses for him while he made a rescue and she had no idea that it was for us!! And as we were being "rescued" she took pictures!!! To make us never forget our mistake that could of cost us our lives! The valuable lesson l learned from this, is that if you are in a beach or ocean and there is no one around swim back to shore because your life might be in danger. Also l learned that if you feel like you are being sucked into a direction, swimming out of the ocean before you can’t, and lastly, l leaned that no matter what the mistake you always learn something valuable out of it, and it might even turn you life for the better!
