HAND BEHIND THE EVIL
MACBETH is often said to be about "evil". It is often referred to as "The play" or the "Scottish play". Although, the three witches and Macbeth's own ambition to become the King, influence him in killing Duncan. But, the biggest factor influencing Macbeth's decision to commit regicide was Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth violates her chief duty to her husband and her god when she urges Macbeth to kill Duncan. Lady Mactbeth is more of a partner than a wife. Macbeth id dominated by his wife and she forces him to kill Duncan.
When Macbeth sends Lady Macbeth a letter stating the three witches prophecies, Lade Macbeth wishes that the spirits would unsex her, make her more cruel, and less feminine so that she can kill Duncan herself. And, when Macbeth comes back and tells Lady Macbeth that Duncan was going to come that night for a feast, she says,
" O, never shall sun that morrow see!
Your face, my Thane, is as a book where men
May read strange matters.
To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, Your face, my Thane, is as a book where men May read strange matters. In other words Macbneth should behave like a true Gentleman from outside, but be like a serpent inside, who is ready to kill Duncan, the minute he gets a chance. This shows that...
