Explain how a manager fulfills the four managerial functions and the four managerial skills.

In order for a manger to be good and successful in a business or company, one must acquire the "Functions" and "skills" to being one. The four managerial functions are Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. And the four managerial skills are Conceptual competencies, Human Competencies, technical competencies and lastly Political competencies.

In managerial functions, the steps are in sequence, Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. Planning, it refers to the practice and the profession link with the idea of planning an idea by an individual. It helps to decide objectives in terms quantitative and qualitative terms. It is a goal setting process on objectives and keeping inview the resources. It should be realistic and can be long range, intemidiate range or short range. The three different types of planning are strategical, tactical and operational planning, its done by the top manager, middle manager and first line manager in sequence.

Example , company A aims to achieve $50million in annual sales within 3years, to open 3 new outlets each year and build fame for their excellence in customer service. Organizing, an organization will assemble and coordinate the pieces and parts necessary to accomplish the goals that were determined during the planning, it involves the assigning of tasks, grouping the tasks into departments, how resources are deployed and the assigning of authority. Example , the person managing the project would now enlist help of contractors, as well as gather supplies and anything else needed for successful completion of the project.
