Marilyn Monroe was a great American idol. Women wanted to be her, and men wanted to be with her. Although she died at a young age, Marilyn led a very fulfilling life. She made numerous movies, appeared in countless magazines, and made a huge impact on the average American's life.

Marilyn was born on June 1st, 1926 as Norma Jeane Mortensen at a hospital in Los Angeles, California. She was later baptized and renamed Norma Jeane Baker. Later on in her life while she was at work, a photographer came up and wanted to take her picture. The pictures lead to her scoring a modeling contract. In the months that followed she posed nude for photographer Tom Kelley in 1949. She was only paid fifty dollars for her photo shoot at the time. The photographs later lead her to getting her first deal with Fox 21st Century.

Marilyn's acting career spanned sixteen years and consisted of twenty-nine films. She arose from a struggling actress into a big screen legend. She also was a famous face in many magazines. With her natural beauty, she became known as a "photographers dream." By the time of her early death she had appeared on thirty-three national magazine covers.

Lastly, Marilyn Monroe had a big impact on American society. She was a giant pop icon and also a major sex symbol. Many people in the country looked up to her, and wanted to be her. She also made it more okay for people in the public to be more risque in the way they carried out their lives.

In conclusion, Marilyn Monroe was a big star. In her short life, she made a very big impact on American society. Through her work in movies and magazines she quite possibly changed American lives forever.
