Macbeth Essay: Waste

The play Macbeth uses many different forms of waste. We see a waste in leadership, lives, and a nations guide to becoming a growing economy. The play Macbeth uses many different images in order to look into the future at what could possibly take place. Shakespeare uses his characters to establish what destiny is in store for them. Macbeth should have been a great king that ruled Scotland. Banquo's family dynasty never did come true. With this, great potential was never realised. The loss of individual lives is tremendous in the play Macbeth. Many lives are wasted over the power of one man, Macbeth. Macbeth also makes chaos, which causes useless upheaval. The entire nation is left leaderless, is very vulnerable, and has civil wars going about within. Throughout the play, waste is a big factor. It is almost inevitable that Scotland will lose dignity, and chaos will begin as soon as King Duncan is killed.

Macbeth goes from a rational being to a total ruthless savage who will stop at no costs to receive what he wants. All that is created is havoc and devastation to the nation when Macbeth goes mad.

It's obvious to the audience that there is no way that Macbeth can get away with killing innocent people. Referring to the very first act the witch's prophecies do foreshadow Macbeth's character as becoming more evil. Macbeth says to himself, "I go, and it is done; the bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell that summons thee to heaven, or to hell." [Act II, Scene I, Line 69] Macbeth could have been a great king if he hadn't of killed Duncan. Once Macbeth is finished with Duncan he begins to go insane, as he says...
