With technology evolving at a rapid pace, and the prolific availability of high speed internet to home users, more people are taking advantage of file sharing programs to download movies from the Internet. I will apply my experience as being a regular visitor on different forums on the Internet and from downloading movies myself from the Internet.

What is the Internet? As described by a technical dictionary website "http://www.webopedia.com", the Internet is a global network that is connecting millions of computers. More than 100 countries are linked to the Internet in order to exchange news, opinions, and different data formats. (www.webopedia.com) The Internet is a rapidly changing technology that has changed the way we live. The prices and speeds of high-speed Internet vary by their providers. The competition between companies that offer Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Internet access and companies that offer Cable Internet access has made high-speed Internet access affordable to home users.

Businesses use Internet for different services than home users. Business owners use their Internet to send and receive e-mail, and to make their servers available for their employees and customers. Home users on the other hand use it to search the World Wide Web, to send and receive e-mails, and to download different media files. To download movies, an individual needs High-speed Internet connection as well as software.

The word "software" dates back to 1960's. Software is an entire set of programs, procedures, and related documentation associated with a system (Webster's dictionary). A website called http://www.zeropaid.com is a website that reviews and allows users to download software that enables them to download movies. Currently, the website lists fifty-five available programs for the Microsoft Windows platform.
