My visit to Pakistan

Who would have thought that someone's life could change in just ten days? Well, mine did during summer break of my junior year. I went on a two-week trip to Pakistan with my Pakistani class. We traveled all over Pakistan, from Karachi to Peshawar, along the South of Pakistan, and even to Iran! I visited places I usually saw on the television screen. I even climbed 827 steps on the world famous Habib Bank Plaza. I truly enjoyed visiting the Pakistan Maritime Museum. It is so big that people say it takes about one whole week to go through the entire museum. That visit was very educational and interesting, especially when I finally got to see the most famous submarine in history, The Agosta 90B. This once in a lifetime trip changed my life for the better in only ten days.

As I sat in our tour bus looking at the unique, British buildings of Karachi, we suddenly passed by a huge group of well wishers, who showered us with rose petals.

At first I did not think anything of it, but as I took a closer look I noticed that the signs being held read, "Anti-Terrorist". My initial feeling was fascinated, which quickly turned to pleasure. It was then when I discovered that the media had portrayed Pakistan in a totally wrong light. Pakistanis are the best people on earth. Then, it hit me with a big bang, we are against terrorism! And so are the Pakistanis. Being in Pakistan and knowing that we were obviously not welcomed, made me realize that I was in paradise and my days could be very entertaining. As a result, I learned that I should not take anything for granted.
