Everything and not a penny more

Nothing and not a penny less

Deeper into you than I ever thought I'd be

And it's a futile race I'm running

Like a hamster on a wheel

I never see the circles

Does this make any more sense to you

Than it does to me?

Pictures of us screaming

Mounted on a wall

Those were the days things weren't OK

And were at the same time

Cause we knew where we were going

So far as that was

Maybe it'll be a little different

I hope it is because

The sun went down and the sunset faded

And now we're left here lonely, jaded

Trying to determine if it's ever coming back

And if it's worth the wait to find out

We could use some candlelight

To try and push the nightfall back

Spin the clock hands and pray for the best

Cause it's not the best time to be put to the test

I'm so afraid

I'm terrified

I've seen all this too many times

And with every ending someone died

I'm so scared

I'm unprepared

I've seen all this too many times

Bitter without the sweet unless we find some light

Recordings of us caring

Up on the TV screen

Those were the days everything was great

Except for the fact we didn't see

The next act isn't what we were led to expect

Too soon though it is

Maybe it'll be a little different

I hope it is or else

The sun goes down and the sunset fades

And now we're left here lonely, jaded

Trying to determine if it's ever coming back

And if it's worth the wait to find out

We could use some candlelight

To try and push the nightfall back

Spin the clock hands and pray...
