With obesity and depression becoming an issue in the United States, it's important the American people should recognize eating fast-food and other junk foods is an unsanitary way of living. To correct this way of living, people need to start eating healthier and exercising more which will allow them to find a new appreciation for themselves and have a more positive outlook on their lives.
First of all, in order to solve the problem of obesity, people need to stop eating food high in sugars and carbohydrates and start eating foods with more nutritional values. According to a poll done by the Food and Drug Administration in 2003, about 80% of Americans eat foods with no nutritional value at least twice a day. By eating these foods, people are easily going to gain weight, which can result in depression. To solve the problem and to lose weight, people need to tweak their diet in order to healthier foods, such as fruits and vegetables and other foods that provide essential vitamins and minerals without having a high fat content.
Another way for people to lose weight is to start exercising. Whether if it's going out to a local gym for a few hours twice a week or going outside for a five-minute walk, people need to get to up off the couch and exercise to increase their chances of losing their obese condition.
