What is obesity doing to modern day youths and teenagers?

Obesity is common among our modern day teens as well as adults, but there are ways to reduce obesity.

We live in a society full of obese teens who do not understand ramifications of their actions. Obesity can affect teenagers' mental, emotional and physical health in many ways. When people think of a teenager they think of healthy, skinny vibrant youths. However in reality '16% to 33% of teenagers are considered to be overweight or obese', while numbers still continue to raise, health experts are still unsure of what the main problem is. Understanding how the child became overweight in the first place, is an important step toward breaking the cycle. Most cases of obesity are caused by eating junk food and limited exercise. When people think of obese people, they think of it as an appearance issue. However being overweight is actually a medical concern because it can seriously affect a person's health and their family.

As we know teenagers would probably watch more TV than anyone else in the family. That is why many fast food giants such as McDonalds and KFC, have their advertisements targeted at teenagers. Many fast food restrooms use convincing catchphrases such as 'We love to make you smile' by Mc Donald's and 'The burgers are better at Hungry Jacks'. Fast food giants are multi billionaires who spend millions of dollars just on advertisements to make it so convincing anyone would want it. Spending millions of dollars on one advertisement is no problem for them because they would probably make that money in one day.
