Organizational behavior may show itself differently in Wal-Mart, Target and General Electric (GE). We plan to discuss how restructuring, competition, fiscal policies, globalization and organizational culture are affected and each organization hold to their mission statements.

Organization BehaviorOrganizational behavior is impacted internally and externally in different ways depending on what type of organization it is. In this paper we will discuss three different organizations and how those organizations impact the economy. We will also discuss the mission statement, customer demands and economy. The force that I will elaborate on will be organizational culture.

Organizational CultureGeneral Electric has there organizational values posted directly on the GE Website. By doing so, they have provided written expectations to their employees regarding ethical behavior and integrity in the work environment. These values reflect the energy, spirit, and solid foundation of the company, articulating a common code of organizational behavior. Furthermore, GE'S bold set of management strategies is aimed at increasing innovation and improving productivity to make the company more competitive.

In the corporate world, GE's organizational culture is considered one of the highest ethical standards. According to Larry Ponemon (KPMG, 2007), National Director of Business Ethics, "GE now has one of the best ethics compliance programs in existence" (pp 12).

Since Thomas Edison started GE in 1876, the company has steadily grown into a tremendously successful organization and one of the largest companies in the world. Several management and organizational strategies have been used throughout the years in order to attain the current status of the firm. When looking at an organization's cultural appeal, one must first decide what he or she is looking for; what appeals to one person may not appeal to another.
