Patience is one of the key qualities to develop if you care about personal growth and business performance. Horace Bushnell said that it is not necessary for all men to be great in action. The greatest and sublimest power is often simple patience. However, our desire for expediency, which often works against our common sense. We do not usually expect major changes to our circumstance to be easy such as building a new house is hard. When it comes to physical world changes, we already acknowledge that patience is required. We do not expect to suddenly manifest a new house overnight. A big part of problem is that self-help or prosperity marketers have given us terrible expectation. Books, audio programs and seminars promise to make us all overnight successes, solving all of problems if we merely sent cash to them. It is easy sell because we would love to believe it.

The reality is that personal improvement and business performance development require tremendous patience. Many of people life's and businesses failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. The empire of business companies, such as Microsoft and Apple, are not built in a day. Those founders spent ton of time and money to built their reputation and brand. Then the reward from the patience it could be great sales, increased customer satisfaction, strong profits or a promotion.

In additional, I am not saying such people who have written about self improve and success are lying to audience about their results, but it may not be right for you, or it is not a good time. A book written by 60 year old business person may seem like it is full of great advice a 20 year old entrepreneur, but more...
