Pollution and its impact on businesses.

Objective

I propose to research the impact of pollution on our environment. There are many forms of pollution, and I will try to elaborate on each one, how it is produced, give examples if possible and show the impact it has on the environment. I will give a summary of articles I have read on the matter and also give my own opinion of the problem and what can and is being be done to prevent it.

The areas of interests that I may examine is the problem of:

Greenhouse effect

Air pollution

Water pollution

Indoors air pollution

Let me tell you why I have chosen this topic. I feel that in this day and age of tremendous technological advancement, there isn't enough being done to combat pollution and waste disposal. Part of the problem is that no one entity wants to take on the enormous cost associated with cleaning up the environment.

But I think that it is a gold mine waiting to be exploited in certain areas. What I mean is that just as the EPA sets regulations and monitors companies and the environment, there should be an agency that just does environmental cleaning, I am not sure how it is done now. Instead of mining the earth for materials and cutting down trees, I think that landfills should be mined or sifted thorough for metals, papers, plastics, wood and other reusable materials, to a greater extent than is being done now.

Some of the waste that is not toxic can be cleaned, ground down and encased in plastic or resins and made into new forms of wood or building materials. There are millions of tons of precious metals that have been thrown away that can be recycled. I also feel that just...
