Reflective Essay

Have you ever wanted to know how a pregnancy can change your life for the better? For me, pregnancy and motherhood has changed my outlook on life completely. It all started on April 7th, 2010, as I felt like I was coming down with the flu I knew something wasn't right. I wasn't for sure if I was pregnant or not, wasn't expecting it either. I knew if I was pregnant my mother wouldn't have been so proud of me, so I decided to just go to the store and buy a pregnancy test, which I went to the bathroom, and took the test. A couple of minutes later… I was pregnant!

My mom found out that I was having a baby, she wasn't as mad as I thought she would be, neither was my dad. But when my boyfriend and I told his family, I never felt so much hatred.

His family didn't like the fact that we were having a baby. I was a couple months pregnant when my boyfriend and I broke up because of his family and their action. I never felt so alone in my life until that moment in time. I couldn't believe I had to do this by myself.

July 15th, 2010, I found out that I was having a baby boy, even though I was hoping for a baby girl. Since I was carrying a baby boy, I was excited to decorate his room. My mom and I went to Columbus a lot of time just to shop at baby's r us. I love that store! Babies "R" Us is like heaven to pregnant women. I had everything bought for my unborn son, but the only thing missing was a name. I didn't know...
