Prevention is better than Cure

Influenza or widely known as "flu" is a contagious disease that is spread mainly by close contact, sneezing or coughing. In United States flu spreads every year starting from October till May. The symptoms of flu are: fever/chills, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, headache, and runny and stuffy nose. Flu can make much people sicker than other, which include young children, older adults above the age of 60, pregnant women and people already having certain health problems like heart diseases, asthma etc. Flu can last up to several days and consequences of it can be fatal or lead to hospitalization. So what are the good and easy ways to prevent from catching flu? There are three simple ways to prevent from catching flu and those are: built strong immune system to fight against flu viruses, take good care of sanitation and hygiene and take flu shots on time.

Immune system is the protein mechanism in the body that develops antibodies to fight against foreign invaders (bacteria, virus and germs) that causes disease. So to build a strong immune system that can fight against flu virus becomes necessary. There few simple ways to boost immune system. Optimizing vitamin D is important because vitamin D produces over 200 antimicrobial peptides, the most important of which is cathelicidin, a naturally occurring broad-spectrum antibiotic that helps prevent catching flu. Vitamin D is easily available from sunlight but it is hard to get sun exposure during winter so food like yogurt that is natural probiotic and high enriched milk products that says vitamin D should be consumed. Also, vitamin C helps boost immune system so including citrus fruits like kiwi, oranges and red and green peppers in meals...
