This essay expresses the my opinion on whether or not nuclear arms should be allowed on earth. It cites past and present conflicts pertaining to nuclear weapons which makes any paper sound more professional and trustworthy.

Nuclear warfare has been considered the worst invention ever created by mankind. While most choose to look on the negative side of nuclear warfare, there are those that look on the positive side. Nuclear weapons are commonly called weapons of mass destruction or atomic bombs. Nuclear warfare is war involving the use of nuclear weapons. The most common nuclear weapons are atom bombs, hydrogen bombs, neutron bombs, and enhanced radiation weapons. The atom bomb was the original nuclear weapon and it relied on use of a chemical explosion to cause a chain reaction. The hydrogen bomb is a more powerful weapon than the atom bomb. The hydrogen bomb relies on the release of thermonuclear energy by the condensation of hydrogen nuclei to helium nuclei (Hutchinson Encyclopedia Article on Nuclear Warfare, 2003).

The neutron or enhanced radiation bomb is a small hydrogen bomb that has comparably high radiation but a relatively low blast; it is designed to kill persons by a brief neutron radiation wave that leaves surrounding structures intact. Despite the potential destruction that could be caused by nuclear weapons, testing and owning them could bring peace to the world.

The first ever-recorded use of nuclear warfare was a test explosion in Alamogordo, New Mexico, on July 16th, 1945. The first and only use in war was by the USA in World War II against Japan on August 6th, 1945, over Hiroshima, using uranium, and three days later at Nagasaki, using plutonium (History Of Nuclear Weapons).
