Upon doing this research, I established the prominence of religion in UK life; to some, religion holds no significance however I consider this to be purely dependent on the individual and whether they deem religion to be an important practise.
Primarily being a Muslim, religion, in my opinion is part of my daily routine. There is not a single day that goes by without referring to religion. Firstly, my day begins with the morning prayer of Fajr, this is done every morning by sunrise, followed by 4 other prayers at different times of the day.
This is to remind me that there is an Almighty who created us and having it being done 5 times a day,one is able to imagine how close God in fact is by helping abstain from all evil and vices. The recitation of the Qur'an is likewise,an additional point which givesme a reminder of religion, this is merely because I regard it to be a revelation from God as a book of guidance, a way of life. In the month of Ramadan, I increase my recitation of the Qur'an in addition to prayers. I also fast, which assists in teaching me self-discipline. It reminds me of the suffering of the poor, who may rarely get to eat well. The end of Ramadan is marked by a big celebration called 'Eid-ul-Fitr', the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast.
