Introduction

In this report we will speak about the NHS IT system, we have to describe and explain this megaproject.

What is a megaproject? According to Bent Flyvbjerg (http://flyvbjerg.plan.aau.dk)�, a Megaproject is a very large investment project. It is defined by the US Federal Highway Administration as a project costing more than $1 billion. In this kind of project, Public sector and political interest is highly important.

Recently we can mention "Boston's Big Dig" or "Channel Tunnel" as Megaprojects. This professor wants to know why in this type of project, cost overruns.

In our case it is the major problem and the main reason why the project was stopped.

In this report we will begin by summarize this project develop the project scope, and then we will study the management process we will conclude and give some recommendation.

Project summary and scope

First of all we have to describe the history of National Health Service. This unit created in 1948 in United Kingdom -by the National Health Service Act-, provides the necessary heath care which everyone needs whatever its social condition.
